The prestigious Singapore International Music Competition (SIMC) – for piano and violin is continuing its Australia Live Round – Sydney in 2026, bringing a world class performance and competition platform to talented young musicians across the country. A celebration of musical excellence, the SIMC is considered as one of the most highly regarded youth music competitions in the Asia Pacific region and its entry into Australia marks an exciting new chapter for aspiring performers nationwide.

The Australia Live Round – Sydney aim to make this global stage accessible to young musicians residing in Australia. Now open for registration, the live rounds are scheduled to take place in Sydney between 8 – 9  October 2026. Open to pianists and violinists under the age of 30, the competition offers young musicians and artists the chance to showcase their talent on a global stage right here at home.

More than a competition, SIMC’s mission is to uncover and nurture the next generation of musical talent, offering prize winners unique opportunities and scholarships to perform at international music festivals and participate in masterclasses with esteemed musicians. It offers a holistic and enriching artistic experience, with participants evaluated by a panel of esteemed local and international adjudicators.

Selected top performers will also be invited to perform at the highly anticipated Gala Concert Ceremony in Singapore. Previous winners of SIMC have gone on to perform internationally and gain admission to leading conservatories around the world.
